Legalize
Ferrets

After all, they’re called Domestic Ferrets!

Gil Cedillo and Kevin de Leon

Kevin de Leon and Gil Cedillo offer Proof, No Integrity in California Politics

Why We Don’t Even Bother with the Legislature any more

Ferrets Anonymous and LegalizeFerrets.org used to search the legislature every year looking for a sponsor for a ferret legalization bill. It was a lesson in futility.

With the scandal in the city of Los Angeles, I want everyone to know that the two members who won’t resign, Kevin de Leon and Gil Cedillo are both former members of the California State Assembly and the California State Senate.

I remember calling Kevin de Leon’s office many times. The reason he is memorable is that his website had a gateway. “Click here to donate” before I could reach the “Contact Me” part. Alex Padilla, as a California legislator had the same thing.

I don’t remember my contacts with Gil Cedillo, but he was never on the radar as anyone who was a friend of the ferret community.

Neither of these people seems to be a friend of the little guy, ferret or otherwise.

If you listened to any of the conversations that got these two in trouble it becomes impossible to imagine them doing anything to benefit anyone but themselves. The lengthy conversation is about building their power and tearing down people in other communities.

And their refusal to resign shows whom they put first, and it ain’t us.

Elon Musk is right:

“It’s a one-party state,” Musk complained, noting that Democrats hold a super-majority in the state legislature and all of the statewide elected offices. The state’s elected officials “will never be responsive except to the people that funded them,” he added.

There is a profound lack of integrity among these people who “represent” us.

There is no use in looking for a legislator to legalize ferrets. They want power and we’re not in that game.

No one is coming for our ferrets. We no longer hear about ferrets killing babies. The state has found it better to leave us alone and let sleeping dogs lie. The best way to change a bad law is to strictly enforce it, something California doesn’t do.
